EG Shifter Mount Positioning

My evening was spent preparing the tunnel for the new shifter mount from an EG Civic. I actually went to a wrecker and had a foot-long section of an EG tunnel cut out surrounding the mount. Luck had it that the bit I required was a smaller piece of metal held in place by seven spot welds. A bit of drilling and I was left with...

This makes the swap very straight forward:

1. Grind down the stock shift hole lip
2. Open the stock hole up by a couple of mm.
3. Insert EG flange and plug weld through drilled-out spot holes

However, the above assumes you want to wish to keep the shifter location the same - I don't. Being over six feet tall, I will be moving the seat mounts back for more leg room and the shifter will have to come back as well if I want to be able to reach it. Without additional mods to the underside of the chassis, the shifter can only be moved back about 30mm which should (hopefully) work nicely for me.

Back to the point, I measured and marked out the metal that needed to be removed...

And created a cardboard template for the piece of metal that will be required to fill the front of the extended hole...

It all seems to fit very nicely and is booked in for Tuesday to get welded in :o)
